The Dominion of Rothinzil is a colossal, genial nation, ruled by Mary the Fantabulous with an iron fist, and renowned for its hatred of cheese. Its compassionate, cynical population of 8.888 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Zargon. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, the government funds large training centres to turn dragons into functioning members of society, the sound of wooden legs echo throughout Rothinzil after the recent introduction of the Foot Tax, and citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rothinzil's national animal is the dragon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the drakar.

Rothinzil is ranked 4,093rd in the Pacific and 100,743rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -50 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
