The Pretty Much United Republic of Rodenttown is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by High King Antonio with an iron fist, and remarkable for its ban on automobiles. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.758 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Rodenttown City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 70%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Woodchip Exports.

Programmes of questionable content are shown at peak-hours, all footpaths have tollbooths, almost all of Rodenttown's water is piped into the country from abroad for exorbitant prices, and heavy industry must go to expensive lengths to dispose of waste. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Rodenttown's national animal is the tree frog, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Squirrelism, and its currency is the aular.

Rodenttown is ranked 3,972nd in The North Pacific and 85,823rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -19 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
