The Grand Coalition of Rithian is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by Roya Malkyah with an iron fist, and notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 9.281 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, moralistic, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nero. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Woodchip Exports.

Citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, the nanny industry has had a boom after maternity leave was recently banned, military recruitment numbers are down as citizens object on 'moral grounds', and small businesses are gobbled up almost daily by corporate giants. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Rithian's national animal is the Black Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Altrism, and its currency is the Nikal.

Rithian is ranked 15th in Paradoxia and 125,313th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring -4 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
