The Enlightened Kingdom of Rhydychen is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Matthew with an even hand, and remarkable for its restrictive gun laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5.652 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Oxonia. The average income tax rate is 75%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police, major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day, students cut up leftover punt sterlings during Arts and Crafts, and the government is making attempts at curtailing the flood of spam emails with little progress. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rhydychen's national animal is the ddraig goch, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the punt sterling.

Rhydychen is ranked 9th in The League of Just Nations and 12,100th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 59 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
