OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Democratic States of Remedean is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by President Jason Jacquez with an even hand, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 11.253 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Girandian City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 67%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Gambling.

Recruitment posters proclaim the army to be both fabulous and fashionable, Remedean is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, marijuana is legal in the privacy of your own home, and the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Remedean's national animal is the Gir, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the Pacifico.

Remedean is ranked 3rd in Grand Central and 4,939th in the world for Most Avoided, scoring 577 on the Kardashian Reflex Score.
