The Republic of Reaganomic Wessex is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Alfred Winfield Harrison The Great with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.023 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Winchester. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

The nation's diplomatic missives are now delivered via sniper rifle, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, Reaganomic Wessex is increasingly belligerent on the international stage, and the military has had to quell a recent insurrection by uninsured revolutionaries. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Reaganomic Wessex's national animal is the Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the Beatle.

Reaganomic Wessex is ranked 1st in Reaganomic Paradise and 2,315th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 27 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
