The Protectorate of Raven Mail is a massive, economically powerful nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.722 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The tiny government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Religion & Spirituality are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 11%. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Furniture Restoration industry.

Citizens select which government department gets their income tax thalers each year, voting is voluntary, the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, and corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians. Crime is a serious problem. Raven Mail's national animal is the bunny, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the thaler.

Raven Mail is ranked 82nd in International Democratic Union and 112,393rd in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 50 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
