The Grand Empire of Ralkovia is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Emperor Joshua Raskov II with an iron fist, and renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 11.42 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Raskovia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 81%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The government is notorious for leaving citizens with almost nothing from their inheritance, major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day, citizens must pay to enjoy Ralkovia's pristine beaches, and military spending is on the increase. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Ralkovia's national animal is the Slave, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Ralkovian Imperialism, and its currency is the Golden Standard.

Ralkovia is ranked 2nd in Tyrrhenia and 771st in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring 17 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
