The Socialist Democracy of Quasi-Millitary is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Erich Honecker with an even hand, and remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 7.785 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Social Welfare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Picon City. The average income tax rate is 96%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Schools have extensive counseling programs for troubled students, Red Cross demand for body bags is rising while sutures go unused, a ban on unsolicited cold calling in all forms is in effect, and referenda are held for every conceivable government action. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Quasi-Millitary's national animal is the Cylon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Quasi Polytheism, and its currency is the QM.
