The Federative Republic of Qlumez is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Sezbu Liommatt with an even hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate population of 5.873 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Qlumèzeu. The average income tax rate is 88%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

Droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police, Qlumez-made cars tend to catch fire in people's driveways, there have been sightings of people walking around dressed in nothing but leopard-skin g-strings for 'religious reasons', and glittering new sports stadiums adorn every city and town. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Qlumez's national animal is the Zulucxaelu Thrush, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Qlumezian Lauz.

Qlumez is ranked 11th in Emirates of Futurnia and 33,627th in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 148 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
