The Democratic Federation of Puissancevise is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by President Donald Grespin with a fair hand, and notable for its national health service. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 3.649 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized government concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Welfare and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Puissanceville. The average income tax rate is 30%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Tourism and Book Publishing.

Space research funding has hit a recent high while several military bases are being closed down, retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites, the government has cut taxes in the face of widespread tax evasion, and the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Puissancevise's national animal is the Wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Credit.
