The Commonwealth of Procrastiopia is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by the Rt Hon Protus Crastius with a fair hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.992 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, liberal government concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Procrastiopolis. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 14%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Tourism.

The poor are often seen pale and dizzy after selling their blood to make ends meet, citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, the Procrastiopia Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon', and much of Procrastiopia's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Procrastiopia's national animal is the caprimulgus vociferus, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is to be decided tomorrow, and its currency is the pound.
