The Constitutional Monarchy of Proasis is a huge, cultured nation, renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed population of 762 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kangarr. The average income tax rate is 81%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Most of the military's funding goes into researching space-age weaponry, voting is voluntary, the police have reaffirmed their tough stance on drugs, and Wiener Dogs are frequently shot for looking at people 'in a funny way'. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Proasis's national animal is the Wiener Dog, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Double Double.

Proasis is ranked 3rd in Greater German Brotherhood and 95,383rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -27 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
