The Principality of Postmodernia is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Beckett Burroughs with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.172 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Foucaultpolis. The average income tax rate is 67%. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

National parks have long lines of different gender-specific 'Porta-Pottys', organ donation is compulsory, an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, and the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system. Crime is totally unknown. Postmodernia's national animal is the tapir, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the schnibble.

Postmodernia is ranked 4,450th in the South Pacific and 90,761st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -22 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
