The Little Pink Cloud of Port Shana is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Julia Billiards with a fair hand, and notable for its restrictive gun laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 4.375 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Education, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Left Armchair. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Charged suspects often have to wait years before the courts have room to judge their trial, military funding has been stripped back, Port Shana's educational system is the envy of many and regarded as a pinnacle of academic achievement, and citizens recently voted in favour of declaring bubblewrap an 'abomination of nature'. Crime is totally unknown. Port Shana's national animal is the lobster, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Weeding the Veggie Patch, and its currency is the Silver Shasha.
