The Federal Republic of Permaculture and Sustainability Britain is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by The Green Technocrat with an even hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.109 billion are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Law & Order, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ecometropolis. The average income tax rate is 84%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Immigrants are required to salute the flag five times a day, the government has declared its commitment to multilateralism, libraries are now installed with jacuzzis and mini-bars, and guns are banned. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Permaculture and Sustainability Britain's national animal is the Wild Boar, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the CCUPSB.
