The Icy Nation of Pengwiniah is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Ashuas Trnalos with an iron fist, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 22.444 billion Pengwiniahns are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sign. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Euthanasia is illegal, corporations are either above the law or corrupting it, Pengwiniah successfully hosted the Antarctica Olympics, and terrified tympanists are finding themselves on the front lines armed only with kettledrums. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Pengwiniah's national animal is the pengwin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Pengwini-ism, and its currency is the beak.

Pengwiniah is ranked 61st in Antarctica and 113,843rd in the world for Largest Manufacturing Sector, scoring -22 on the Gooback-Jerbs Productivity Index.

Pengwiniah is currently considering its options.
