The Kingdom of Patriarchae is a massive, safe nation, ruled by The All-Powerful Destroyer of Worlds with an iron fist, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, cynical population of 1.571 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Urbem Magnum. The average income tax rate is 86%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Tourism, and Book Publishing industries.

Children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life, long arduous trials are held for the most trivial of offences, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, and the government props up questionable pizza establishments in the name of health. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Patriarchae's national animal is the snake, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the ducat.

Patriarchae is ranked 4,005th in The North Pacific and 86,408th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -20 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
