The Federation of Patria Nueva is a huge, safe nation, ruled by General Matias Blanco with an iron fist, and remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 820 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Buenos Aires. The average income tax rate is 49%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

Clowns are being rounded up and admitted to mental institutions, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government, and a massive campaign is underway to ensure the race of Patria Nueva remains pure. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Patria Nueva's national animal is the Condor, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Peso.

Patria Nueva is ranked 63rd in Europeia and 7,325th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 7 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
