Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.887 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dub Jay. The average income tax rate is 92%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Arms Manufacturing.

Much of Pacific Commonwealth's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence, the nation has an international reputation for compassion, almost all the visible space on TV screens is taken up by advertising, and the government pours millions of pesos into rehabilitation programs annually. Crime is totally unknown. Pacific Commonwealth's national animal is the ratel, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Batmanism, and its currency is the peso.
