The Independent Nation-State of Pacific Commonwealth is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Maze with a fair hand, and remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, intelligent population of 7.617 billion Pacific Commonwealthians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dub Jay. The average income tax rate is 99%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Rioting during the nation's hosting of ORDER caused one million pesoes of property damage, Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, children listen incredulously when their grandparents explain what a "running river" is, and the sound of wooden legs echo throughout Pacific Commonwealth after the recent introduction of the Foot Tax. Crime is totally unknown. Pacific Commonwealth's national animal is the ratel, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Batmanism, and its currency is the peso.

Pacific Commonwealth is ranked 169th in Osiris and 8,368th in the world for Most Politically Free, scoring 80 on the Diebold Election Inking Scale.
