The Holy Empire of Oppressedom is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Pinkie with an iron fist, and renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.355 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Vegas. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.

All news sources are under strict government control, students and teachers are regularly stopped and searched for symbols of religious affiliation before class, ethnic minorities are often refused admission to some of the nation's best schools, and Oppressedom has become a gigantic dustbowl filled with tourists and mean desperados. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Oppressedom's national animal is the Rock, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Internetism, and its currency is the Tortilla.

Oppressedom is ranked 20th in the South Pacific and 1,268th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 36 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
