The Republic of Omnistellar is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.927 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Commerce and Education are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cygnus Proxima. The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Automobile Manufacturing, and Gambling industries.

Military spending recently hit a new high, the government is interviewing for thousands of 'Religious Censor' positions, marketing departments of corporate giants compete to sponsor little league teams, and midnight pizza breaks are common among the work-from-home population. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Omnistellar's national animal is the mantichora, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Nihilism, and its currency is the krona.

Omnistellar is ranked 6th in The Proletariat Coalition and 66,388th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -14 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
