The Kingdom of Olesnica is a massive, devout nation, ruled by Patrik I with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 4.887 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The enormous government devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 18%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Military spending is on the increase, corporate 'hostile takeovers' now involve ICBMs and main battle tanks, protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, and the psych wards are overflowing with transsexuals. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Olesnica's national animal is the silver eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the golden olesnicki.
