The Military junta of Nuevo Cuba is a massive, safe nation, notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.979 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nuevo Havana. The average income tax rate is 32%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Soda Sales, and Uranium Mining industries.

Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, the government has enacted freedom of information, commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies, and prosecutors routinely call transplant doctors as 'expert witnesses' in burglary cases. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Nuevo Cuba's national animal is the tocororo bird, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the peso.

Nuevo Cuba is ranked 199th in Lazarus and 3,621st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 20 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
