Its compassionate population of 879 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dartmouthafax. The average income tax rate is 71%. A large private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

The people are famous throughout the region for their bleached-white teeth, government popup ads are springing up like weeds, public footpaths are being slowly eroded by the burgeoning number of ramblers, and Novascotiatopia's leader goes out to lunch surrounded by large men in dark glasses. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Novascotiatopia's national animal is the Beavoose, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Novite.
