The Free Land of North Edwartica is a massive, genial nation, ruled by supreme elected leader Shi'norah the dra with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.333 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Leia. The average income tax rate is 66%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Skateparks can be found in every city, a new generation of aquariumless hotels are being built under government supervision, televangelists flaunt their expensive cars when they attend charity events, and the North Edwartica Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon'. Crime is totally unknown. North Edwartica's national animal is the Horned Catdog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Credit.

North Edwartica is ranked 1,363rd in the Rejected Realms and 54,841st in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 125 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
