The Republic of North Cyprus is a huge, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 710 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Emretia. The average income tax rate is 78%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Students are wary of colorfully decorated new teachers with names like Professor Pipsqueak, the "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The Emretia Times is sold out, all judiciary cases are decided in the court of public opinion, and 'A is for Annulment' is a popular children's song. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. North Cyprus's national animal is the moose, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the spitza.

North Cyprus is ranked 1,085th in Europeia and 88,506th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -21 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
