The Kingdom of Nopspri is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Eiuol Rendo with an even hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.551 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass -- is mainly concerned with Commerce, although Law & Order and Defence are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 22%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Automobile Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Drunk drivers are sent to rehabilitation paid for by the government, the government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments, citizens are frequently held up at gunpoint by their local pizza delivery boys, and major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Nopspri's national animal is the Gorponan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Nop.
