The Oudste Stad van Nederland of Nimega is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Hubert Bruls with a fair hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 15.145 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gemeentehuis. The average income tax rate is 96%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Children listen incredulously when their grandparents explain what a "running river" is, new safety regulations require all cars manufactured in Nimega to be bombproof, Members of Parliament are often found living in cardboard boxes, and pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Nimega's national animal is the Kraker, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the silver coin.

Nimega is ranked 103rd in Nederland and 123,286th in the world for Highest Police Ratios, scoring -192 on the Orwell Orderliness Index.
