The Empire of Newtdom is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Emperor Newt XX with an iron fist, and notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 17.182 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Winchester. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 92%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Arms Manufacturing.

The nation leads Gholgoth in per capita stalking, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, most mothers are forced to quit their jobs to care for infants, and the Ministry of Truthiness now manages the entire media industry. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Newtdom's national animal is the Griffon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Florin.

Newtdom is ranked 15th in Gholgoth and 11,324th in the world for Most Influential, scoring 36 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
