Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Free Land of New Poldevia is a massive, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its hatred of cheese. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.561 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Poldevia City. The average income tax rate is 87%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life, politicians are to be found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income, parents live in fear of governmental 'child protection' squads, and corporations cut costs by taking away safety-features on their products. Crime is totally unknown. New Poldevia's national animal is the Alex Vladimirovitch, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the wine bottle.

New Poldevia is ranked 4,109th in the West Pacific and 97,086th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -6 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
