The Borderlands of New Navarra is a massive, genial nation, ruled by the Navarra Socialist Party with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate population of 4.089 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Social Welfare. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. New Navarra's national animal is the Navarra Sea Serpent, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is atheism, and its currency is the Indy.
