The Republic of New Imperial Germania is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Albert Falk with an iron fist, and remarkable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.982 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and Public Transport receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Berlin. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 46%. A robust private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been recorded, factories are regularly demolished to make way for low-cost housing areas, parents must choose their children's names from a government-mandated master list, and hairdressers are among those who have disappeared overnight. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. New Imperial Germania's national animal is the Black Eagle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is None, and its currency is the Reichsmark.
