The Federal Republic of New Heathera is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Mordecai Thratchton with a fair hand, and notable for its hatred of cheese. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.234 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Havenya. The average income tax rate is 53%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The new hit series "New Heathera's Got Trauma" has corporate executives fleeing the country, many parents are becoming frustrated with their children's choices in spouses, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, and major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day. Crime is totally unknown. New Heathera's national animal is the Meerkat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Secularism, and its currency is the New Heatheran Credit.

New Heathera is ranked 4,493rd in the South Pacific and 93,420th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -5 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
