The City-State of New Global is a huge, economically powerful nation, renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 619 million are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Global City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 19%. A small private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Fewer people are bathing as citizens must show ration stamps before they can turn on their faucets, innocent defendants often plea guilty for fear of receiving a much harsher sentence before jury, the government has ordered a moratorium on referenda, and the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. New Global's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the royale.

New Global is ranked 48th in Global Federation of Nations and 74,491st in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -1 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
