It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Commerce are secondary priorities. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Tourism.

Politicians have to be granted day-release from prison to speak on bills, the police have been swamped with requests to stay up past bedtime, people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight, and a government program is underway to revitalize New Daleks II's beaches. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. New Daleks II's national animal is the Dalek Mutant, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Dals.
