The Domain of New Altros is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Consul Draven Marrow with an even hand, and notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.79 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Yggdrasil Hive. The average income tax rate is 69%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

New Altros's soft-touch approach to diplomacy has made it known as the 'push-over' of the region, surveillance cameras are banned, the government is financing an extremely costly war against malaria, and New Altros's first free elections in recent memory have been successfully concluded. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. New Altros's national animal is the Dragon Hound, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is The Way of the Dragon, and its currency is the Draught.

New Altros is ranked 13th in New Egypt and 66,579th in the world for Most Authoritarian, with 0.256 Stalins.
