The Greater Reichland of Neue Preusen is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Friedrich Karl von Helstrom I with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.787 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Commerce, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Königsberg. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 48%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Furniture Restoration, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Conscientious objectors are hanged as traitors, protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, ethnic minorities are often refused admission to some of the nation's best schools, and there has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Neue Preusen's national animal is the Black Eagle, its national religion is Lutheran, and its currency is the Reichsmark.
