The Forge World of Neo Eisens is a massive, safe nation, ruled by The Tribunal with an iron fist, and renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 4.88 billion are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hive City Purgatory. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

The NEBI Channel Tunnel project is plagued by delays, mandatory daycare is provided by the government, a government program is underway to revitalize Neo Eisens's beaches, and cremation is compulsory for the deceased. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Neo Eisens's national animal is the Servitor, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is The Cult of the Machine God, and its currency is the Throne Gelt.
