The NasiCorps and UDL Fiefdom of Nemours is a colossal, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its burgeoning blue hen chicken population. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.409 billion are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The small government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12%. A large private sector is led by the Retail industry, followed by Soda Sales and Door-to-door Insurance Sales.

The mining industry has taken a hit from tighter environmental regulations, motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, the carcases of double-deckers can be found littering high streets all around the country, and historical fiction has been banned. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Nemours's national animal is the blue hen chicken, and its currency is the sillimanite.
