The Still Sleepy Nation of Needless to say is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Mr Potato Head with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 14.827 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Organ donation rates have hit a new low, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, citizens applying for their first jobs face fierce competition from the homeless, and the government seizes private property for the 'good of the people'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Needless to say's national animal is the hot dog, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the needless.
