The Free Secular Federation of Nation of Quebec is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Jean-Luc Lacombe with a fair hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 13.86 billion are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Freedom. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Gambling, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Reporters often lose their jobs over fact-checking errors, voting is voluntary, Nation of Quebec is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, and morning coffees are no longer the same since the disappearance of newspapers. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. Nation of Quebec's national animal is the Sasquatch, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Quark.

Nation of Quebec is ranked 5th in Capitalist Paradise and 149th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 21 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
