The Rogue Nation of Mushroomia is a huge, cultured nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 879 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Commerce and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Araphaphill City. The average income tax rate is 52%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Religious figures have been banned from public holidays to make them more multicultural, Mushroomia's newly-famous raindances to summon storms instead attract tourists from all over New Land, violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner, and elected officials often serve for decades in a single term. Crime is relatively low. Mushroomia's national animal is the Puffball Catius, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Kibble.
