The Dizzy Republic of Mountainsea is a gargantuan, safe nation, notable for its hatred of cheese. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 21.704 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on the Environment, although Social Welfare and Education are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 86%. A tiny private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Organised sports are frowned upon as frivolous, the police have reaffirmed their tough stance on drugs, organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, and conductors wield diamond-encrusted batons to fit in with their freshly gilded surroundings. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mountainsea's national animal is the orca whale, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Almighty Dollar.

Mountainsea is ranked 4th in The Heartland and 1,403rd in the world for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 202 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
