The Most Serene Republic of Mossyrock is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Her Excellency Rolichan Ballyhooharah with a fair hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.531 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Social Welfare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Wahoo. The average income tax rate is 67%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Main battle tanks stalk the woods of Mossyrock in search of Penguins, the government is using tax revenues to provide jobs for the poor, the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, and anti-government web sites are springing up. Crime is totally unknown. Mossyrock's national animal is the Penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Ducket.

Mossyrock is ranked 4,061st in the West Pacific and 96,175th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -28 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
