The United Communist Republics of Monganda is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Premier Yuri Slavanka with an even hand, and renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate population of 1.654 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Defence and Education are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 86%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The government is pouring money into 'Operation Enduring Democracy', nobody ever seems to enter or leave the armour-plated flying castle that serves as Monganda's House of Parliament, the government has declined to declare any particular religion as its 'official' one, and the mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Monganda's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Monganda's national animal is the Blue Jay, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Mongandan Ruble.

Monganda is ranked 98th in USSR and 87,112th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -20 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
