The National Menschivik Republic of Moltar is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Moltar with an even hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 16.352 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Booth. The average income tax rate is 98%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Referenda can be called for any law at the request of at least one third of the voting population, artists are pillars of society, religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else, and spies caught in Moltar are never heard from again. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Moltar's national animal is the Mantis, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Dollar.

Moltar is ranked 1st in USSR and 804th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 44 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
