Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Community of Minnafornia is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Governor Moonbeam with an even hand, and notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 3.433 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Santa Mento. The average income tax rate is 85%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Welfare funding has recently gone through the roof, most citizens in Minnafornia are abject pyrophobes after extremely graphic pamphlets were mailed nationwide by the government, recent protests against birds flying too low have resulted in bloodshed, and the government's official stance on religion is that it is so very silly. Crime is totally unknown. Minnafornia's national animal is the elk, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the hug.

Minnafornia is ranked 24th in North Carolina and 94,646th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -26 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
