The People's Republic of Mineristan is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by J McZy with an iron fist, and remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, cynical population of 3.528 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the socialist government, which grants its people the freedom to do whatever they like so long as it doesn't involve getting richer than anybody else or challenging the government.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Miningrad. The average income tax rate is 98%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
The fire protection service is wholly government-funded, the number of students attending university has reached a record high, religious figures have been banned from public holidays to make them more multicultural, and Mineristan's famous countrysides are shrouded by wind farms. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mineristan's national animal is the cave spider, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the credit.
Mineristan is ranked 4,133rd in The East Pacific and 108,786th in the world for Most Conservative, scoring 32 on the Bush-Santorum Dawning Terror Index.
