The Failed State of Millyland is a colossal, genial nation, ruled by Lynda Woodruff with a fair hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates, daily referendums, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic population of 7.758 billion Millylandishes are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Environment, Welfare, and Social Policy. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dumplings. The average income tax rate is 69.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Millylandian economy, worth 483 trillion goats a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing and Cheese Exports. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 62,339 goats, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes, teenagers across the country are celebrating the defeat of a national curfew bill, the "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The Dumplings Times is sold out, and the nation's youth is held blameless for all crimes. Crime, especially youth-related, is a problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Millyland's national animal is the FOM, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Millyland is ranked 131st in Social Liberal Union and 110,327th in the world for Largest Automobile Manufacturing Sector, scoring -6 on the Henry Ford Productivity Index.
